Strip Curtains

Strip Curtains, Walk-In Coolers.
The Cold Stays In.

Every second a cooler door is open, cold air spills out and warm air rolls in. PVC strip curtains let people and carts through and keep the cold in.

Strip Curtains

An Open Door Lets the Cold Out.

When the strips overlap right, a curtain keeps most of the cold in while carts keep rolling through. It’s the smallest thing we hang, and it pays for itself fast.

Where a curtain pays for itself

The Doorway People and Carts Use All Day.

We measure before we cut. The overlap and the width of the strips matter more than most people think. The wrong material gets stiff in a freezer. Within a few months, the strips stop swinging back into place.

Standard PVC for coolers and low-temp PVC for freezers, sized to overlap and rated for the cold in the room
Thick ribbed strips a driver can see, for forklift traffic and dock doors — tough, replaceable strip by strip
Chase-brand curtains, and new installs, re-hangs or single strips swapped on the rail you already have
The swinging doors that go behind a curtain →

A curtain is not a door. If you also need a door that seals shut when the shift ends, start with RSNE custom cooler and freezer doors or a repair on the door you have.

FAQ

Strip curtains, walk-in cooler questions.

Do strip curtains actually save energy?
Yes. Every second a cooler door is open, cold air spills out and warm air rolls in. When the strips overlap right, the curtain keeps most of that cold air in while people, carts and forklifts keep moving through. It’s the cheapest way to save energy in cold storage, which is why you see them everywhere.
What’s the difference between cooler and freezer strips?
Low-temp freezer strips are made to stay flexible below zero. Standard strips get stiff, crack, and stop swinging back. Tell us the temperature you keep the room at, and we’ll hang the right material.
Can I replace just a few damaged strips?
Yes. That’s what the rail is for. If the rail your curtain hangs from is a standard one, we replace single strips instead of the whole curtain.
Do strip curtains replace a door?
No. A curtain and a door do different jobs. The curtain keeps the cold in while people, carts and forklifts move through. The door seals the doorway shut when nobody’s working. At a busy doorway, you often want both.
Whose strip curtains do you install?
Chase. They also make the impact doors we hang, the swinging kind a forklift pushes straight through. Standard and low-temp PVC plastic, sized and overlapped to your opening.
What do strip curtains cost?
They’re the least expensive thing we sell. Call us, and we’ll usually quote your openings on that same call.
How far do you travel to hang curtains?
We cover all of New England and New York from our shop in Lakeville, MA. We usually hang curtains alongside a door job or a build. Major projects take us nationwide.

That Much Traffic Is Why We Hang Curtains.

The cold room in the photo above is the 3,000-square-foot cooler and freezer we built for Community Servings in Mansfield. Carts go through that opening all day. If the door at that opening is the part that’s failing, read our guide on whether to repair or replace a walk-in cooler.
